Party-goers face charges

THE TRIAL of six Lower
Mainland men facing a total of
nine charges stemming from a wild
party in) West) Vaneouver last
August will be continued Nov, 24.
in West Vancouver provincial
court.

Regan Buyan and Brian William
Farquhar, both 19 aad both of
West Vancouver, Mark Galanakes,
23, Ronald Richard Witt, 20, and
Stephen Wyse, also 20, all of
North Vancouver, and Joseph
Henry Maisonneuve, 20, of Van-
couver, were all charged jointly
with one count of unlawful

assembly in connection with a
house party-turned-ciot that began
Aug. 21,

West) Vancouver Police have
estimated that up to 600 people
were involved at the height of the
brawl which started at a residence
at 125 31st St.

During the melee, which re-
quired West Vancouver Police to
call in 20 Vancouver City Police
and eight North Vancouver RCMP
for assistance, seven police officers
suffered minor injuries, 10 West
Vancouver Police vehicles were
damaged and 27 Lower Mainland

youths were arrested,

Maisonneuve also faces charges
of obstructing a police officer dnd
causing a disturbance. :

Farquhar, Galanakes and Witt
are charged individually wi ith
obstructing a police officer. Wittis
also charged with resisting a polive
officer and Wyse is charged with
assaulting a/police officer.

Detonators found in NV park

NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP
have recovered a small quantity of
electric and non-electric explosive
detonators in Lynn Canyon Park.

Several youths discovered the
devices July 13. Police say explo-
sions were heard in the area earlier
Wednesday.
