Van student finishes first year at UNBC TWENTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD Dave Beck wasn’t even alive the last time a university was built in Canada, and he’s mak- ing the most of his opportunity at Canada’s newest. university — the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). Not only is he the first student ‘Trom North Vancouver. to even , attend UNBC, but he’s the vice- chair of the first UNBC student soci- ety: he’s one of the first student res- -idence advisors; he helped form the firs. UNBC student newspuper, and he’s on the executive of the UNBC - Football Club.
