Chamber of Commerce
finds new W. Van home

WEST Vancouver’s
homeless Chamber of
Commerce is homeless no
more.

Its new home is at 775 Sth St.
and its landlord is West) Van-
couver District.

The chaniber has negotiated a
two-year lease for the property
with the muncipality, finalizing an
agreement that will allow it to rent
out the basement to other small
community groups and to share
the revenues with the munieipali-
ty.

The chamber will pay the
municipality a monthly rent of
$1,000 through a reduction in the
municipal grant it receives.

Utility charges and other in-
cremental costs will be the respon-
sibility of the chamber.

cil agreed to spend about $4,000

to the current building codes,
Council expressed its pleasure at
the March 22 meeting that the ar-
rangement will provide space for
the chamber, plus other communi-
ly groups, including:

counselling;

Pro;
* Seaview Alcohol and Drug Pro-
grams;
© Vancouver Art Therapy;
*World-Wide Home
vironmental Network;
¢ the Save Howe Sound Society.
Other municipally owned houses
are currently being leased for
childcare, preschool, parks
department, library and health
departinent uses.
