Curling playdowns are first off ihe mark with seven senior toys’ and four senior girls’ rinks com- peting at the North Shore Winter Club. Feb. 8 at 3:45 p.m.. and Feb. 10-1f at 9:30 a.m.; 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. to decide one boys’ and one girls’ berth to the B.C. cham- pionships in Nanaimo, March 1-3. Sutherland’s boys, with a strong returning lineup from the team that placed fifth in the province last year, is the favorite going ipto the zone competition. There is no clear girls team to beat.
