Separation would ‘halt’ Quebec

Dear Editor:

Laurier Lapierre’s statement
{some time ago) abcut racist pigs
should have b.en directed towards
his hame province, Quebec. That's
where they murder diplomats,
blow up mai! boxes, terrorize
businesses and openly condemn
English.

How dare these French-Cana-
dian foreigners come to B.C. and
accuse us of bigotry. English
Canada is not only people from
Britain, but the majority of

Western Canadians who wish to
preserve a democratic way of life
compared to French-Canadian dic-
tatorship.

At the moment we have a choice
— either surrender or separate. If
we do not have the guts to separate
we should at least make the politi-
cal clowns responsible for their ac-
tions, French-Canadian politicians
have a firm control and will not
relinquish even if it means destroy-
ing the country.

Dear Editor:

Canada Post, in current adver-
tisements, claims that it has done a
thorcugh analysis of where Cana-
dians need post offices and as a
result is providing more convenient
locations.

One wonders what the thorough
analysis produced to justify the
removal of the office and mail box
from the Lonsdale 1100 block to
the [500, where now they are
almost opposite the established
(and very efficient) office at 1615.
What advantages, apart from not
having to cross the road, does
Canada Post eapect from this
duplication of service and com-

petition to its other office?

Trying to obtain this informa-
tion from Canada Post proved a
frustrating experience, the usual
customer services defences being in
pice, i.¢. answering machines,
busy signals. However, after two
days contact was effected and an
expression of sympathy given, plus
the information that an alternative
was the main office on First Street,
eight blocks downhill in the op-
posite direction!!

Perhaps a close analysis of the
intelligence(s) responsible for this
re-siting would be a step in the
right direction.
