The Deep Cove Chamber Soloists (DCCS) will stage an aural soundtrack to the theatre's current photographic exhibit in the first instalment of Pres- entation House’s four part Music in the Gallery series. The contemporary classical compositions mak- ing up that soundtrack have all been commissioned from .Vancouver composers by the Dccs. Vivian Waters, first violin with the DCCS, says the concept is not only unique to the North Shore, “‘it is unique to Vancouver.’? All composers commissioned, she adds, are women; and, because of the DCCS’s non-existent operating budget, all original composi- tions will be donated. In addition to Waters, the DCCS consists of fellow North Shore resident Jen- nifer MacLeod, viola; Anne Cramer, second violin; and Dianne Berthelsdorff, cello. The quartet was officially incorporated in late 1983, but, according to Waters, did not become a practising . musical entity until May of this year. All are professional musi- cians.
