NV ‘parent’ for Colombian boy

12-year-old Seuth American
boy now has a foster father
on the North Shore who is
helping support him and his
family with monthly
payments.

Jutio Sintisterra of Buen-
aventura, Colombia. was
recently “adopted” by
Christopher Johnson of
North Van under the Foster
Parents of Canada plan.

Julio, who lives with his
mother, stepfather, two
sisters and a brother, attend
Grade 2 in his local school,
has a good attitude to school
work and enjoys playing
soccer.

His stepfather, a wood-
cutter, earns $100 a month,
this being the family’s total
income. Fhey live in a tiny ~
60 sq.ft. wood and zinc
dwelling furnished with two
tables, two beds, three
benches and an oil stove.
