AFTER serving eight
years as a West
Vancouver District
councillor, Andy
Danyliu has decided
not to seek re-election,

Danyliu had been ponder-
ing a run for mayor, but
announced Wednesday he did
not have enough time to be
mayor, a father and remain in

his current position of chief

executive officer of the
Kinsmen Rehabilitation
Foundation of British Colum-
bia

out of the three jobs. No one
else could be chief executive
officer or a parent and that
only leaves one choice,” said
Danyliu.

He said he would step out
of public life for three years
and may reconsider running
again in the 1999 election.

Danyliu, who can’t resist
adding humor to council pro-
ceedings, said he will miss tak-
ing on Pat Boname in the race
for mayor. He said it would
have been an issues-oriented
campaign.
