16 - Sunday, February 18, 1990 - North Shore News ROAD BLOCKS Expect traffic delays ROADBLOCKS is a new Sunday feature of the North Shore News. The weekly column will list the various road closures, detours and road work taking place in the three North Shore municipalities so in- convenience can be kept to a min- imum for North Shore drivers. The following are the scheduled road closures and detours for the coming week in North Vancouver District. and City and West Van- couver District: NORTH VANCOUVER DISTRICT: DOLLARTON HIGHWAY RECONSTRUCTION: Road con- struction in progress with minor daytime traffic interruptions. Single-lane traffic with flag control may occur during non-peak travel times. It is recommended that motorists use Mount Seymour Parkway as an alternate route. eee . LONSDALE INTERCHANGE AND UNDERPASS CON- STRUCTION: The four-stage pro- ject will maintain two lanes of traffic in both directions during non-peak traffic periods. During peak traffic periods all existing lanes will be operable. Minor delays should enly occur intermit- tently during construction. Under the second stage of the project the excavation for the underpass at Lonsdale will begin. A north-south detour bridge will be built over the excavation at the intersection. eee MOUNT SEYMOUR PARKWAY (MOUNT SEYMOUR ROAD TO BROCKTON CRESCENT): Con- struction of right-turn lane and ac- celeration lane for one block cast of Roche Point Drive. Minor delays and inconvenience will be encountered by persons accessing the golf course parking lot. wc kt ROBINSON ROAD (PETERS ROAD TO THE NORTH): Local improvement street reconstruction and storm drainage installation. NORTH VANCOUVER CITY: WEST ESPLANADE: Sewer con- struction in the 100 block, which will result in the regular four lanes being reduced to two lanes in the 100 block area.
