Non-smoking bylaw
approved by District

NORTH VANCOUVER
District merchants have
received help in getting

smokers ta butt out.

District Council voted
Monday to spend $4,000
from the council reserve on
the initial cost of implemen-

ling its anh-smoking bylaw,
which was passed Oct. 28,

The funds will be used for
the distribution ef up to six
no-smoking decals for af-
fected establishments. Addi-
tional decals will be available
for $1 each.

“The requirements of

most establishments can be

met by enclosing the neces
sary decals with the business
licence renewal notices, thus
saving business people a
special trip to municipal hall
to purchase decals,”* district
social planner Lenna Jones
told council.
