Students get
financial aid

TWENTY-ONE students
from North Vancouver
School District 44 are being
given financial aid by the
North Vancouver High
School Education Founda-
tion.

The Foundation has pro-
vided eight scholarships and
13 bursaries of $500 each to
graduates from School
District 44 who have enroll-
ed in a post-secondary in-
stitution.

The Foundation has
grown steadily from _ its
beginning when North Van-
couver High School, for

. many years the only high

school on the North Shore,
closed because of declining
enrollment.

At that time, the endow-
ments which had provided
scholarships and bursaries to
North Van High graduates
became the basis of a new
Foundation to help students
from the whole of North
Vancouver.

The scholarships awarded
by the Foundation bear the
names of well known North
Vancouver citizens, many of
them former teachers at
-North Van High.
