Dear Editor: I was appalled at the amount of space taken in the October 27 edition of the North Shore News to describe what has been presented by your paper as “in-fighting”, and your airing of “dirty linen” of one association comprised of citizens of the North Shore. Such reporting smacks of “bias and an attempt to discredit the association to the benefit of its coun- terpart. I am very disappointed that the North Shore News has aided the attempt by individuals in our com- I‘m independant Dear Editor: As are result of the considerable publicity and public concern on the alignment of grouping of many candidates in the election, I would like to offset any mistaken im- pressions which may be drawn from your recent Statement regarding a N.V. I cannot see the justification for discrediting one association at such length at a time when your paper could be a valuable vehicle for bringing to the public the stated positions of those who have declared their intention to run as aldermanic candidates in the forthcoming municipal elections. The article referred to seems to focus on a minority of members of an association District voters that there ts absolutely no change in this commitment, nor will there be. J. Murray Dykeman North Vancouver Exposure of NoVVA ‘overdue’ Dear Editor: Many thanks to the News for finally exposing NoVVA (News Oct. 27/82). The disclosure, that NoVVA is communist controlled, was long overdue. Every one of our school trustees has accepted NoVVA backing. To ac- complish its goals com- munism must weaken western society. Before going to the polls, voters should ask: 1. Why are the com- munists happy to support our incumbent school trustees? 2. What does this tell us about the direction of our schools? Cassandra (Name supplied) North Vancouver ‘Theatre of the absurd’ Dear Editor: I love the North Van- couver City council. And that is because I have always been partial to Theatre of the Absurd. Here we have the council in its wisdom urging the federal solicitor to restore capital punishment. On the other hand, carlier this year, they refused to put the nuclear disarmament referendum on the ballot because, in so many words, it was not their jurisdiction. Well, the capital punishment issuc is not their jurisdiction cither.
