Caps were down 6-14 at the half when Brian Murray scored a try which Mike Parr converted. The local side put on the pressure in the second half producing three spectacular tries from Bill Wigglesworth, lan Thompson and Doug Speranza. Parr added two conversions. Other weekend rugby action had Capilanos Thirds dominate Ex-Britannia 27-4 and Capilanos Fourths trounce Scribes Fourths 31-3. On Sunday Capifanos over 40's Snawcaps defeated Burnaby Twilighters 10-8. Soccer Foster’s soak Goldcaps IN WEEK eight of the Coaches Soccer League schedule and the first week of inter-divisional play, Foster’s Pacific upset Olympia Goldcaps 2-1 in a battle of brewers. Although the Goldcaps scored first, Foster’s fought back with two outstanding individual efforts as Robert Orr in the first half and Peter Jenkins in the second scored to cement the win. Bart Choufour turned in a stand-out performance in Foster's mid-field, as did their backline in limiting the potent Oly offence to only one goal. A clash of two of the top teams produced a taut defensive strug- gle as both Dick Burns in the Nordic F.C. net and Karel Groeneveld for North Shore Midas Rangers recorded shut-outs in a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Norvan Old-timers, however, left no doubt as to its superiorty in axing Rogers Sports 7-1 while F.C. Germania blanked Candia Taverna 2-0, O.K. Tires edged Pemberton Station 1-0, Molsons pounded Swan Lager 3-0 and Mt. Seymour Ravens and Ac- countemps matched each other goal-for-goal in a 3-3 stand-off. Hockey Chiefs smoke Chaser THE FOSTER Chiefs smoked the Lynnwood Chasers 6-4 over the weekend in the North Shore Industrial Hockey League. The Chiefs led the game with centre Mick Day accounting for three goals and one assist. The first period ended 3-1 for the Chiefs and with only two minutes in penalties. But in the second period the game became more a contest of brate force than athletic skill as more than 75 miautes of penalties were handed out. The period ended 4-3 for the Chiefs.
