welcome you te STEPHEN HUDSON is in the top five of his class at Holy Trinity Junior School. There are many other North Shore students who can make this claim, but Hudson's achievements are especially noteworthy. The 13 year old suffers from a severe hearing loss. His father Keith says Stephen has been able to integrate into a regular classroom thanks to the in- struction he received from the Vanccuver Oral Centre for Deaf Children. “‘Without the oral centre the life of the deaf would be incredibly traumatic,’’ he said. Stephen does not know sign lan- guage. His father explained he and his wife decided against teaching their son sign language because so few people know how to sign. STEHPEN HUDSON has worked to keep himself at the front of ihe class despite his handicap of being hearing im- paived. The Holy Trinity Junior School student learned oral communication skills at the Vancouver Oral Centre for Desf Children in Vancouver.
