“THERE'S no doubt in my mind
we're becoming another
Hollywood," said North Van-
couver District Ald.. Ernie Crist at
Monday’s council meeting.

Along with other council
members, Crist voted in favor of
renting the district’s Fire Training
Centre to a movie production
company, which begins shooting
there May 6.

Andrew McLean of Greater
Alarm Productions said about 70
extras will be hired from the Lower
Mainland, and he agreed with Ald.
Joan Gadsby that priority be given
to hiring North Vancouver resi-
dents. . “

Gadsby also requested that th
* movie company credit North Van-
couver District in the film for ren-
4° ting the Fire Training Centre to it.
“McLean said the impact .would
be minimal to the residents. in
nearby St. Denis Street, noting the
film’s latest hour of shooting
would be midnight, on one day on-
ly.
