Even though the show was almost an hour late starting, it took her a_ remarkably short time to turn a restless packed house into an au- dience rapturous enough to give her three ovations by show’s end. Interviews and _ perfor- mances had kept her hopp- ing between Edmonton, Vancouver, Los Angelas and Vegas between Sunday and Wednesday, so when the show opened she said she found herself exhausted She said she was gratetul the audience was so recep- tive, while nervous energy and a love for performing kept her going ‘‘The whole thing of performance is communication’’ giving energy to an audience and receiving it back again.
