Van workshop ACETYLENE leaking from a tank in a workshop among a Lynnmour industnal com- plex burst into flame in the early hours of Tuesday morning. A man living ncarby in a trailer heard an initial explo- sion and then another blast and called North Vancouver District Fire Department shortly before 5 a.m. Damage from the blast at 1422 Crown Street was primarily smoke, although a blowtorch of flame scored a wall in the building and burned through rubber hoses. A fire inspector said the thick smoke had largely been responsible for putting out the fire.
