Tel in September of 1976 when customers in the greater Vancouver area were provided with direct dialing service to seven overseas countries which included the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. The service is now available to all customers in the Lower Mainland area and later this year will be introduced to customers in the South Okanagan region.
