Just after 6 p.m., Squamish RCMP were notitied of a miss- ing person who had last been scen swimining in Cat Lake. The ran had been diving with a diving mask and fins looking for objects on the bot- tom of the lake. Squamish = Search — and Rescue assisted the RCM? in the search of the area. “At 8:06 p.ta. 4 constable using a borrowed canoe was searching near the shoreline when he spotted the body of the missing man in about 15 tees of water,” said Cpl Don Orthner. “An ROMP diver and coro: ner attended the scene and with the assistance of search and rescue personnel the body of a male person was recov: ered.” Dead is 2o-yearold Jonathan Franklin Towes, No foul play is suspected and police are sul investigat- ing. Deborah White, 35, suc- cumbed to muliple injuries at 2:45 a.m. Monday, more than seven hours after she was airlift- ed from wilderness. White and her husband were hiking on the north face of Moun: Seymour's second peak Sunday afternoon when she slipped "and fell down a steep snow slope.
