den, pop-up headlights and
the SCI had horizontal
exposed headlights. In my
opinion, the styling of new
Coupe is more extroverted
and trendy than the previous
model.

Inside, there are more
curves, new larger speedome-
ter and tachometer,
redesigned knobs and con-
trols in a protruding center
dash area now closer to the
driver, and an unusual dash-
board “lip” on the passenger
side just above the airbag. It
allows the airbag to inflate
properly in a collision.

Apparently, Saturn drivers
are thirsty commuters. There

speed manual transmission.
This engine has plenty of
low-end power for responsive
acceleration around town,
and performs well on the
highway turning over 2,500
np.m. in fifth gear ata con-

However, the engine
sounds rough during acceler-
ation and doesn't have the
same rev-happy willingness of
some import engines,

action is very light.
