The uality of care [ received and the quality of care that my three ward mates received was unbeatable. Even more of an eye-open- er was the kindness and loving care that the = wonderful women who were our care- givers gave us. 1 know litle about the wage scales and concerns of the staff at Lions Gate Hospital, but [do know that it the rest of us in the communi- ty contributed to the common good like those great people at Lions Gate Hospital, our com- munity would be 32 most notable place to Without exception, the women who looked after us did their best to treat us with love and respect. There were shortages and overwork but the nurses and staff kept their good humour and cheerful- ness through it all. These people are special and they should all be proud to be part of this fine group at Lions Gate Hospital. Walter B. Lee West Vancouver Dear Editor: Recently I had to be admit- ted to Lions Gate Hospital on the day a computer sys- tem was being implemented, adding to the time and the frustration of waiting while considerable pain. © evervone, including the statftrving to deal with the new system was dealing with the frantic situation, 1 found that it brought out some of the best (and worst) in people. The statf were very pleas ant, sympathetic and helptul, trom those on the admiding desk to the cafeteria staff and even other “civilians” waiting. P just want to give credit where it is due, and to thank all those who took the time and effort to make the day one [will remember tor its pleasant people rather than for the dif: ficulty imposed by a less than smooth implementation of the new system, Thanks to all vou nice pea- ple.
