THE FOLLOWING people ap-
peared in North and West Van-
couver provincial courts recently to
face various charges laid against
them.

Before Judge W.G. Craig in North
Vancouver provincial court on
May 25: .

Jean Claude Beaudoin, 25, was
fined $300 after he was convicted
on a charge of assault and mischief
under $1,000.

Before Judge B.E. Bebastin in
North Vancouver provincial court
on May 25:

Barry Hugh Anthony Baker, age
30, was placed on probation for six
months and fined $250 after being
convicted for committing an
assault and carrying a weapon
contrary to the Canadian Criminal
Code.

The conviction resulted from an
incident that occurred in North
Vancouver City on Feb. 22.

Before Judge J.L. McCarthy in
North Vancouver provincial court
on May 25:

Scott Kenneth Simpson, age 24,
pleaded guilty and was fined $200
after being convicted of an inci-
dent involving a motor vehicle ac-
cident in North Vancouver District
on March 2.

Before Judge P.L. Maughan in
North Vancouver provincial court
ou May 23:

Bradley R. Leoppky was fined
$300 and had his driver’s licence
suspended for three months after
the 28-year-old Burnaby man
pleaded guilty to failing to stop at
the scene of an accident with intent
to escape criminal liability after
being involved in a-Jan. 29 acci-
dent.

Robert Barrett Lewis received a

conditional discharge and was

placed on probation for three

months after the 42-year-old North
Vancouver man pleaded guilty to
theft. under $1,000 in connection
with a March 24 incident at
Canada Safeway.

Benjamin Luc Paradis received a
conditional discharge and was
placed on probation for four
months after the 19-year-old North
Vancouver man pleaded guilty to
possession of cannabis in connec-
tion with a March 2 drug seizure.

Darren Marshall Yelton was fin-
ed $150 after the 27-year-old North
Vancouver man pleaded guilty to
mischief under $1,000 in connec-
tion with a Dec. 10, [988 incident
in which he slashed the right front
tire of a van.

Randy Allan Wanek was fined
$300 after. the 19-year-old North
Vancouver man was found guilty
of obstructing a police officer in
connection with an Oct. 24, 1989
incident.

Before Judge D. Sheppard in Van-
couver county court on May 14:

Franck Baumier received a con-
ditional discharge and was put on
prebation for six months after the
21-year-old North Vancouver man
pleaded guilty to breaking into and
stealing from a business premise in
the 5000-block Headland Drive on
July 9, 1989.

In addition, Baumier was ~
ordered to complete 80 hours of
community work service by Nov.-~
10.

Before Judge J.K. Shaw in West
Vancouver provincial court on
April 30:

Muzaffer Alp was fined $250
and had his driver's licence
suspended for three months after
the 25-year-old Gibsons man
pleaded guilty to driving without
reasonable consideration for other
drivers in connection with a March
21 incident.
