Sjoblom, the end of this
year’s racing season was
filled with ups and downs,
wins and near-wins.

At Calgary’s Race City Speed-
way, he swept the top spots in
Yamaha RZ Cup and 400 produc-
tion class standings there, but pro-
biems in a subsequent race meant a
third-place finish overall in the
same classes at Westwood.

“4! don’t know what happened,”’
Sjoblom, 23, said of the mishaps
that twice saw his tires lose chunks
of rubber. ‘I guess it was just the
luck of the draw.”’

Constantly finishing among the
lop spots this season, the North
Vancouver racer drastically im-
proved his showing over last year,
which saw him ride to a ninth spot
overall.

“My riding has really improv-
ed,”’ he said. ‘And I think the
reason | did so well was because |
was able to get in a full season of
racing.”’
