Musicians head East YOUNG NORTH Vancouver musicians Jennifer Johnson and Jeanette Wee are training in Kingston this summer with the Na- tional Youth Orchestra of Canada. In the Romeo and Juliet tale brought to the warring turf of rival New York street gangs, Melissa Norman and Pat Patterson both play gang members. Playing Baby John, the youngest of the Jets gang, Patterson has appeared in other musical produc- tions in the past such as Music Man, Oliver and Hair. Norman plays the role of Clarice, also a member of the Jets, who are battling with the Sharks for territorial control and its ac- companying honor. West Side Story runs nightly un- til Aug. 12 in repertory with Little Shop of Horrors. Tickets to the 8:30 p.m. shows are available at VTC/CBO or the door.
