MARY KAY Cosmetics Lid. is en-
joying a 20 per cent increase in
retail sales over last year. Retail
sales in the 1986/87 fiscal year
were up $8 million over the com-
pany's 1985/86 sales figure of $40
million,

This improvement represents ac-
celerated growth throughout the
year with the results of the second
half of the year moving upward to
25 per cent from the #5 per cent
experienced in the first half of the
year,

Important contributions were
made by a greater number of ac-
tive beauty consultants and, to a
lesser extent, improved productivi-
ty.

Ray Patrick attributes the increases
to steps taken by the company to
stimulate ordering and reeruicng
activity. “Not only did we reduce
the size of order required to receive
a 30 per cent discount, but we have
also introduced programs to
enhance the Mary Kay earning op-
portunity.’’

Sales directors, who administer
sales units of beauty consultants,
not only earn company-paid com-
missions on their units’ produe-
tion, but are also paid a monthly
production volume banus.
