Disputes Master Plan stats CITY ALDERMAN Gary Payne disagrees with a report in the North Shore News of March 31 to the effect that District residents use North Vancouver recreational facilities almost 10 times as often as City residents. The final figures are not available yet, he told City council Monday, but he claimed they are nowhere near the reported 90-10 split. The breakdown is probably closer to the actual population difference between the two municipalities, Payne said. The statistics reported in The News came from the North Van City Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The plan indicated that, while a third of the registered users of the Recreation Centre itself are from the City, the figure is closer to 10 per cent for certain other Recreation Commission facilities, such as the Karen Magnussen Arena, the William Griffin Pool and the Ron Andrews Pool.
