It was only after the Labor Reiatons Board had issued an order ruling that the walkout of North Vancouver bus drivers was illegal that North Shore transit users got their buses back. And while the LRB decision has apparently brought an end to _ the conflict over the Metro Transit Operating Com- pany’s transfer of a driver, there are warnings that things could get out of hand again. At least one official of the Canadian Transit Union has publicly said the issue that sparked the three-day work stoppage was “insignificant” but he, and others, are blaming a poor climate of labor-managment _relation- ships for the walk-out. By NEWS STAFF at 5 a.m. Friday after the Metro Transit Operating Company transferred driver Mark McKay from North Vancouver to an Oakridge route in Vancouver. According to the union, the transfer of McKay was the first time such an “ar- bitrary” transfer had been made by the company in 40 years. And, because of the system under which bus routes are assigned to drivers, McKay says he will lose seniority. “Now I’ve got all the worst buses and all the worst routes,” McKay said.
