Rail lands and Seaview Walk in the
Gleneagles and Eagieridge areas
will be held tomorrow al West
Vancouver secondary school, 1750
Mathers Ave, at 7:45 p.m.

The land is currently zoned a
variety of ways. said a West
Vancouver District (WVD)
spokesman.

WVD is the rezoning-hearing
applicant. The hearing is aimed at
changing all.of the land to RS2A

zoning. RS2A requires a minimum -

single-family lot size to be 20.000
square feet (1,800 sq.m).

intended to be a land developer. He
claims BC Rail violated an under-
stinding with WYD over the land’s
use,

The land contains Seaview
Walk and other public-use facilities
currently leased to WVD.

Meanwhile BC Rail claims it ts
acting property in its intention to
subdivide the land for housing. A

needs the land for train use, She
said the Crown railway bas a man-
date to be profitable and taxpayers
would benefit from housing.

connection with a pipe bomb
that exploded Feb. 20 ata
British Properties residence.

No one was injured ina
blast that blew out a window
and caused an estimated
$200 to $500 daniage,
according (to a West
Vancouver Police spokes-
man.

The suspects, an adult and
a juvenile, soth of Wust
Vancouver, face charges in
connection with the 4 a.m.
incident.

The duo were caught with
a police scanner when police
stopped them in the area
after the explosion.

Police obtained a warrant
to search the suspects’ resi-
dences where they found
information about making
pipe bombs and gun powder,
along with an estimated $750
worth of marijuana,
