Taking good photos today is easier than ever before because of new micri.-chip technology in some of the new point-and-shoot 35mm compact cameras that are available this season. But there are some tricks of the trade to taking great holiday photos, whether you use an_alil- automatic camera or a high-tech SLR model. Here are some handy tips to help you take even better pictures this noliday season: * Make sure you have fresh batteries for your cam- era. If the camera runs out of ‘‘juice,"” you're not go- ing to get any pictures. And finding a camera store that’s open on Christmas or New Year’s Day is vir- tually impossible. e Have plenty of film on hand. You don’t want to be caught short on the holiday. Try to match length of roll to your shooting habits. If you tend to shoot many pictures, use 36 exposure rolls.
