Government will have 25 per cent of its automobiles us- ing re-refined motor oii within 90 days and even more in months to come, Government Management Services Minister Cliff Michael and Environment Minister’ Bruce Strachan announced recently. “For years we have been urging British Columbians to recycle their used motor oil — and they’ve responded superbly,’’ Strachan said. ‘‘Now we are asking them to join us in using the recycled pro- duct. The simple fact is, oil doesn’t wear out, and re-refining makes it possible to get further use from a potential pollutant.’” “We are opening our doors to open tendering by the re-refined oil industry for all the iubricating oil needs of the B.C. Ferries are * being asked to -investigate the use of re-refined oil for their iubrica- tion needs. ‘World-class oil re-refining technology has been developed by the Mohawk Oil Company at its plant in North Vancouver but the supply of re-refirred motor oil far exceeds the demand for this recycled product,’’ Michael said.
