Fox Run route altered

PARTICIPANTS IN this year’s
West Vancouver Terry Fox Run,
Sept. 17, will be using a slightly
different route than in previous
years.

The race will start in Ambleside
Pork this year, rather than Park
Royal, although runners may still
utilize the parking behind Eaten’s

_ and The Bay. .

Avoiding revitalization con-
struction on parts of Bellevue, the
runners will embark on either a 16
lm or five km route down Argyle
Avenue and along the Seawalk to
Ath Street. ;

Those taking the shorter route
will then return along Bellevue to
19th Street, and from there along
Argyle.

«The 10 km runners, however,
will proceed from the seawalk, up
. 25th Street and along Beilevue to

29th Street.
Travelling via Park Lane, Proc-

_tor and Travers, participants will

loop back at Marine Drive to 27th
and then back to Ambleside Park
via Bellevue and Argyle.

“It’s not so much a competitive
run as a fun, participatory event,’’
stresses West Vancouver Ald. Pat
Boname, who has taken part in the
event before, and has helped with
the organization in recent years.

Boname hopes for a better tur-
neut than last year, which saw
about 250 people running.

“It’s a very upbeat, interesting
experience,’’ she says.

Both runners and walkers are
encouraged to take part, as well as
people who have had intimate ex-
perience with cancer, ~~
