Anthony Todd Gagnier was originally charged with possession of stolen property in connection with a July 18 incident in which a 1982 Ford automobile was recavered by police. He was further charged with theft under $1,000 in connection with a July 18 theft of licence plates. The Crown entered a stay of proceedings in a charge of danger- ous driving laid against Gegnier in connection with incidents alleg- ed to have occurred the same day on Delbrook Avenue and other North Shore streets. Man jailed for prohibited driving A 21-YEAR-OLD Vancouver man was sentenced Wednesday in North Vancouver provincial court to seven days in jail and had his driver’s licence suspended for 20 months after he was found guilty on two counts of driving while he was prohibited from doing so. Troy William Best was originally charged with three counts of driving while prohibited in connection with incidents in March, April and May in which he was alleged to have driven on various roads in North Vancouver while under suspension. Appearing before Judge J.D. Layton, Best was found guilty on two of the charges. A stay of proceedings was entered in the other charge. In addition to the jail term and the driver’s licence suspension, Best was fined £300 on each charge.
