The two local resi- dents are playing in the thriller Deathtrap, currently running at Pres- entation House. =] NORBURN ALIGHTING 4600 East Hastings. Burnaby Tel. 299-0666 MURDER AND mystery are afoot in the new summer offering at Presentation House. Presentation House’s latest summer show is the classic thriller Deathtrap, a cleverly- devised mystery even the play’s director is leary of talking about. “The whole point of the mystery is that people don’t know what is going on,’’ said director Karen Austin, who ref- used to let on more than the bare facts. “It’s one of the best con- structed plays I’ve worked on in a long time,”’ she added. “It’s more of a psychological thriller, very cleverly constructed.’’ Centring around a mystery writer who likes instruments of death adorning his walls, Deathtrap keeps the audience guessing with plot twists and surprises. “You’re going to see battle axes, @ dagger, a mace all over the set,’’ Austin let on. ‘‘Each one of the murder weapons was used in (the writer's) plays. “Just when you think you know what’s happening it changes,”’ she explained. Deathtrap runs to July 11 at Presentation House. For tickets or information on this latest presentation of intrigue, call the theatre box office at 986-1351.
