In North Vancouver-Burnaby, Terry Peters found jubilant members of the Progressive Conservative party celebrating and applauding Chuck Cook’s victory speech after his impressive defeat of his Liberal and NDP oppo- nents (photoes above). Chris Cameron, meanwhile, was on hand when Mary Collins, accompanied by her daughter, received congratulations from Conservatives for her vic- tory in her first political outing (picture at right), The scenes were not as happy at Liberal headquarters, although both candidates, runners-up in their respective ridings, took defeat graciously. lona Campagnolo (below left) pledged to work hard at rebuilding the Liberal party while Dave Brousson watched the results come in and the Liberal government disappear.
