By NEWS STAFF THE NORTH SHORE Independent School Society is hoping for the best as its proposal for lease of one of two emp- ty schools in West Van- couver is heard next week. But spokesman John Humphries says the group is keeping its options open. As well as the proposal to lease either Glenmore or Pauline Johnson schools in West Van, he said, the socie- ty hopes to open negotiations with the Squamish Indian Band over the possibility of leasing some property. The group is also attemp- ting to reopen talks with the North Vancouver School Board to discuss the use of part of Hamilton school on a short-term basis. Details of the proposal made to West Vancouver school board won't be available until that group meets Monday night but it is believed the society’s offer will be similar to the one made to the North Van- couver board for Hamilton school. Humphries said the society will accent the positive aspects of the proposal to establish the private school. ‘‘West Vancouver has NEWS photo Terry Patera some fears that if we are suc- THEY FILLED in West Vancouver's Inglewood skateboarding bow! this week, to the cessful, they'll have to cut as dismay of some of its regular users.
