WHAT deo you do
when your hairdressing
salon is packed and the
fire department is
telling you thar your
building must be evacu-
ated?

That’s what happened to
Alan James fast Thursday at
about 2 p.m. One of the main
electrical boxes in the build-
ing, at 92 Lonsdale, was start-
ing to smoke. He was told
that there was danger of fire.

“We were ina real fix
because it was the busiest
time of the year,” said salon
owner Alan James, of the

"hairy situation.

That's when he discovered
what kind of a neighbour he
had in salon owner Mostafa
Lemdersi-Filali.

“E went across the street

guess,” ” said James. “He did-
n't hesitate, He : just said
‘Come on over’.

For the rest of the day,
James and another stylist
worked at stations that
Lemdersi- Filali set up.

But after a windstorm hit
on Thursday evening, hydro
crews were tied up the next

was without power on Friday. *:
