Lawyer asked for shorter term

The prosecuting lawyer referred to Rezaci’s “false testimony”

Rezaci’s lawver Robert Kincaid called his chent a “well respect

The defence lawyer was referring to Mani Rezaci, who is serv-

survived a gunshot at close range to the head after a 1996 rave
party in Vancouver. Mani was a co-accused with Bindy Johal and
another man in the kidnapping and extortion of the brother of 4
Lotus gang member. Johal and Mann have since been murdered.

Iraj Rezact was on probation tor assaulting his now ex-wile
when he committed the Immigration Act offences. His ex-wile
lives in West Vancouver and, according to the defence lawyer, is
“now very supportive (of Rezaciy” as indicated in a report given
to the judge.

The defence lawyer asked for a tine and a maximum three
months in jail, electronic monitoring (house arrest) or a cond
tional sentence for the oftences.

Reazaei bas had four assault convictions against his ex-wife and
has served short jail sentences.
