Dear Editor:

I would like to make a few
comments regarding — our
SPCA in North Vancouver.

First, 1 don't: know why
certain people in our commu-
nity are so upset with the pre-
sent facilities, stafY and policies
of our SPCA, During the past
four vears, [ have visited, on a
weekly basis, not only North

facilities of comparable size.
We may not have a large exer-
cise compound (only the
Vancouver pound bas one) but
the kennels are always kept
clean, fresh water provided,
and the dogs exercised regu-
larly with the support: of a
large number of volunteer
walkers. What's the problem?

Too many dogs being put
down? Bull. It just is not hap-
pening as certain people with
an obvious axe to grind against
our SPCA and stat? would like
you to believe. The peaple
who are doing the complain-
ing are probably very con:
cerned with animals and
would like to see changes bur
frankly they are barking up the

people who have been associ-
ated with the animal terrorist
organization that advocates
trespassing onto private prop-
erty and stealing people's dogs
(remember the incident a few
months ago?) And whac about
the idea that a better facility
can be built and run by con-
cerned and compassionate voi-
unteers? Right! Who is going
to pay for this pipedream and
who are these people who
scent to think that they can do
a better job and provide better
care than our present stam? We
already have a facility and it is
staffed with professionals who
are not only concerned and

They deserve our support and
