Unique in B.C., the Capilano College Performing Arts
Management Advanced Certificate program is 10 months
in length and emphasizes hands-on experience. Each
semester, students begin with an intensive three-week
classroom session, then spend the next 14 weeks on a
practicum at the Capilano College Performing Arts
Theatre or at a participating arts organization.

“The students are. given a position and all the
responsibility and deadlines that go with it,” says Black.
“A day's: work could include brainstorming for a poster
concept, researching a. play for press material,
coordinating a photo shoot for performers, or balancing a
