8 ~ Wednesday, April 7, THE following people have appeared in North Vancouver provincial court to face various charges: Before Judge Jerome Paradis on Feb. 3: Robert Allen Christmas, 36, of North Vancouver, was fined $200 after he pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine on Oct. 20, 1998. eee Bradley James Cunliffe, 20, of North Vancouver, received 12 months’ proba- tion after he pleaded guilry to committing mischief causing more than $5,000 damage to a man’s vehicle on March 23, 1998, in North Vancouver City. A charge against Cunliffe of making sn explosive sub- stance consisting of a “mix- ture of double base propellant powder and paper match heads” was dropped. Cunliffe was required co perform 75 hours of commu- nity work. He was prohibited from possessing firearms or explosives for five years. B.‘ore judge Jerome Paradis on Jan. 12: James Scott Rogers, 31, of North Vancouver, was jailed 14 days, fined $300 and had his driver's licence suspended for 12 months after he was found guilty of driving while prohibited on St. Georges Avenue on Nov. 12, 1997, in North Vancouver City. The jail sentence was recommend- ed served by house arrest (electronic monitoring). Before Judge Reginald Grandison on Jan. 11: Ward Bennett Brager, 33, of North Vancouver, received six months’ probation atter he pleaded guilty to assault- ing a person on Dec. 10, 1998, in North Van City. eooe Ian Reginald Carnaby, 33, of Port Coguitlam was jailed two days and received six months’ probation after he pleaded guilty to obtaining money by false pretences from Sears Canada in North Van City on Dec. 20, 1997. Before Judge Reginald Grandison on Jan. 8: Blake Becher, of West Vancouver, was jailed seven days, fined $500 and had his driver’s licence suspended for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to driving while pro- hibited on the Lions Gate Bridge on April 15, 1998. The jail sentence was recom- mended served by house arrest (electronic monitor- ing). Before Judge Jerome Paradis on Jan. 4: Trevor Edgar Tunnacliffe, 3°, of Bowen Island, was fined $150 after he was found guilty of unlawfully boarding the ferry, Queen of Capilano, on Sept. 2, 1997, in Snug Cove on Bowen Island. The charge was laid under the Canada Shipping Act. Before Judge Dovg Moss on Dec, 15: Albert Donald Piche, 19, of Burnaby, was jailed four months after he pleaded guilty to stealing a man’s van on Nov. 12, 1997, in Mission.
