It’s home show time

HOMEOWNERS can tell when spring is
around the corner by the number of home
improvement shows popping up in Vancouver.

The biggest show, the 29th Annual B.C. Home and
Garden Show, will be held from Feb. 13 to Feb. 22 at B.C.
Place Stadium. More than 450 exhibitors are slated. Cost is
$8.25 for an adult.

’ From March 26 to March 29, the Home Renovation
Show will be held at the Pacific Coliseum with 170
exhibitors. Cost is $6.50 for an adult.

ONCE again ski season
is up and running. It’s
not always easy to
enjoy a full day on the
slopes knowing that
you have to entertain a
group for dinner.

Here is an hors d’ocuvre
that is quick and easy and
sure to please the whole
crowd,

Tortilla roli-ups

flour tortillas
light cream cheese (room
temperature)
green chilies (4 oz. can)
mild, and drained
2 Tbsp. light mayonnaise
2 roma tomatoes
1/4 ¢. minced onion
11/2 large garlic cloves
minced
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp salt

Stir together cheese, and
mayonnaise until creamy. Add
all other ingredients. Spread 3
Tbsp. out on cach flour tor-
dilla and tightly roll up. Trim
off ends and refrigerate until
firm (about 2 hours).

Carefully slice the tortilla
into 1/2-inch slices and place
face up on an ungreased
cookie sheet. Put under broil-
er until slightly brown. Serve
these great hors d’oeuvres on
