Dear Editor:

My concern with) politi-
cians is that they lose sight of
the big picture.

Pofiticians seem to seek
popularity by pleasing spe-
cific groups rather than laak-
ing at and exploring what our

ralues as B.C. people are and

how to best serve them eco-
nomically, environmentally,
and whether (hey build a sup-
portive community for all.

lL have seen in the past the
government make decisions
that are short-term and are

made in reaction ta future
disasters. For example: the
ferry slip that was built on the
Sea-to-Sky Highway. What
are the chances of its being
used before it needs repairs?

Fam concerned about the
talk of building a new high-
way to Whistler, Do we not
have more pressing con-
cerns? Our deficit. our health
care, our education, our
homeless?

Whoever is elected please
keep in mind our day-to-day
living. Our need to have food

on the table, shelter, and a
healthy environment to grow
up dn = chean water and air
and food that will nourish us,
We also need to befong to a
community. Where we can
share our talents with others
separate from gain and where
we can receive camaraderie.
Please be mindful of
short-term solutions that
increase our debt and oake
us more fearful for our sure
vival,
