VICTORIA HAS allocated close to $1.9 million te fund an
expansion at North Vancouver's Larson elementary school.

North. Vancouver-Lonsdale MLA David) Schreck
announced the funding Aug. 18.

The project will see. the addition of eight classraoms and
a multi-purpose space. The school’s capaelty will increase
from 228 students to 425. The construction will begin in the

The funding is availuble through the provincial 1994-95
capital budget.

Man jailed .

Unlike Vancouver's Oak Street
Bridge, where daily Jane closures
recently led to long waits for com-
muters, Second Narrows does not
structural
upgrading.

And it is. the structural upgrad-
ing, not the seismic upgrading, that
caused Oak Street Bridge lanes to
be ‘closed, said ministry bridge con-
struction manager Roy Buettner.

“You won't see traffic tied up at
Second Narrows for seismic rehab.
But I'm not saying there won't be
some deck work done on Second
Narrows.
