The first is a two-hour workshop designed for volunteers and family membevs who provide transportation for the disabled. Ann Finlay, a well-known occupational therapist, will discuss how to assist handicapped persons, effective body mechanics when transferring people, socializing with passengers and what to do in emergencies. The workshop is on Saturday, April 2) from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lucas Education Centre. A Class IV licence preparation workshop is also being offered. This workshop will be of value to those people who wish to drive vans for sccial service organizations on the North Shore. The workshop is co-sponsored by the North Shore Driving School. B. Brittain will familiarize you with the process of obtaining a Class [V licence and the necessary special requirements. This is also an opportuni- ty to upgrade your driving skills. The workshop will be offered on Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lucas Continuing Education Centre. NORTH SHORE Neighbourhood House is planning a seniors’ cul- tural trip to the Historic Stewart Farmhouse in Surrey. Participants will step back in time when they tour the restored Victorian home of John and Anne Stewart and view the elaborate ar- chitectural detail and fine wood- work of the inside of the house. The trip will run on Wednesday, NEW CENTRE for the arts has the arts you want, close to home: dance, dress-up drama, drawing and painting, multi-media art, per- formance and improv. drama, and a California tie-dye workshop. Instructor Jodi Boyle’s positive, light manner keeps the fun in dance.
