I HAVE what is no doubt
the Western world’s biggest
collection of ‘‘Hunter’’
headlines.

It’s always a chuckle to
visitors, so [ thought [’d share it
with you.

A ‘Hunter’ headline is any
headline with the word ‘‘hunter”’
in it. Over the years, ever since |
got the inspiration back in the
’70s some time, | have collected
quite a few. ! tack them up on a
bulletin board in the kitchen.

You can do this, of course,
with any family name, but it
helps if your name also serves as
a commonly-used noun.

If you have one of those
names, like Boilermaker or
Clamdigger or Watker or
Toaster, you might think about
Starting such a collection. If
nothing else, it gives you some-
thing to talk about with relatives
when they visit.

With some of these 1 cheated a
wee bit to the extent that I
removed certain key words like
“duck”? as in ‘‘duck hunter’’.
But, other than that, this is the
original stuff that appeared in
various papers and magazines.

There were different kinds of
type and capitalization, but to
avoid driving the computer in-
sane, Ill just put these all in
caps:
