Time bandit at Park Royal A robber wearing a ski mask madc off with thousands of dollars worth of watches on April 24 at Swedish Jeweler in Park Royal shopping centre. According to West Vancouver Police Sgt. Steve Watt, the robber came into the store in the shopping centre’s south mall at 3:30 p.m. He used a hammer to break open glass cases containing the watches. Within minutes of the robbery, police say a 27-year- old Toronto man was arrested in the mall’s parking lot. Police recommended a robbery charge be laid. The West Vancouver Crown office agreed. Carley Anthony McLean was charged the next day with robbing the jewelry store. He was kept in police custody until Wednesday when the Crown dropped the robbery charge in West Vancouver provincial court. McLean was released. West Vancouver Police continue to investigate. The ;, watches have not been recovered.
