Swap meet Seheduied THE PWO North Shore La Leche League groups and other Lower Mainland branches of the non- profit organization are working together to present: the Double Take Swap Meet. Children's toys, books, clothing and furniture will be on sale on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Kensington Community Centre, 33rd and Knight, in Van- couver. Good quality items for children from newborn through elementary school age will be on sale. The La Leche League lends sup- port and provides information to breastfeeding mothers. Originating in the United States, the organiza- tion has been established in Canada for 30 years and has groups in 43 other countries around the world. There are two La Leche League groups on the North Shore — the day group, which meets every third Tuesday at 10 a.m. at > North Lonsdale United Church, and the evening group which meets the se- cond Tuesday of cach month at varying locations and times. The meetings deal with such topics as the advantages of breastfeeding to mother and baby, the art of breastfeeding, and nutri- tion and weaning. Some parks allow dogs on a leash only, and others only during a specific time of the year, Wagg, Eastview, and Cates parks, for in- stance, only permit leashed dogs from Oct.1 to April 15. But there is some good news for dogs who don’t like wearing col- lars.
