Trial set in Ternes case A TRIAL date has been set in Vancouver county court for the 33- year-old North Vancouver man facing four criminal charges in connection with a Feb. 11 incident in which one teenager was killed and another critically injured. Robert Dale Ternes will appear Nov. 2 for trial on the charges. He lias elected to be tried by a judge without a jury. Ternes faces one count of impaired driving causing death and ‘criminal negligence causing death in connection with the death of 14-year-old Steven Oakley. ‘He is also charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm in connection with in- juries suffered by Craig Potter, who was also 14 at the time of the incident. The charecs were laid against Ternes after a car jumped a side- walk in the 1000-block Montroyal Boulevard and ploughed into a group of Handsworth Secondary School students who were walk- ing home from school. Potter, who suffered multiple fractures and abdominal trauma in the accident, was released Monday from Lions Gate Hospital and transferred to the G.F.
