The programs which have been developed by the YMOA‘S physical and health educational profes- sionals, are entitled ¥-Welehs 4 Smokeand Ys Worry, ¥-Smoke is a smoking cessation program, Participants will learn to cope with stress and possible weight gain, two fears of people who stop smoking. ¥-Worry is designed to help people cope with stress through a total management approach. Par- ticipants will be instructed in relasation feebniques, conflict management, communication, assertiveness and time muanage- ment. Integral to the program is the relationship of both nutrition and physical activity as they relate TO SEFESS, Y-Weieht is au werht manage- ment program. Participants will recenve a nutritionally sound eating pattern, onutcition education, finess and stress imormation. To help people start, the first session of cach of the 10-week programs ts free. Participants may decide after the first night whether they wish to continue with the program. Ip NORTH SHORE Family Services is offering two groups for victims of sexual abuse. The first, for adult women who are survivors of sexual abuse, will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., at North Shore Family Services, #303 - 126 East 15th Street, North Vancouver. The fee is $50; subsidies are pro- vided. The second is for adolescent girls who are currently or have been abused. An appropriate meeting date will be set.
