Trumpeter
wins $500

GIFTED trumpeter Jeff
MacDonald, a junior at
Handsworth Secondary
school and son of Mr. and
Mrs. Don MacDonald of
North Vancouver, has been
awarded a $500 Scholarship
by Boston’s famed Berklee
College of Music for his out-
standing performance in the
Surrey Stage Band Festival,
held recently at the Surrey
Arts Centre. The exciting
festival featured the finest
high schoo! jazz musicians
from Bntish Columbia

program has been selected to

The Sunday afternoon pro-
gram lasts 90 minutes with
